The ill-fated Singapore Airlines Boeing 747-400 plane sits on the ground at Taoyuan's Chiang Kai-Shek International Airport on November 7, 2000. Taiwan investigators, helped by U.S. aviation experts, boarded a jetliner to reconstruct the sequence of events preceding the deadly October 31 accident, which killed 82 passengers and crew when the pilot tried to take off from the a runway that was under construction. It was the first fatal crash in the airline's 28 year history.
