FILE PHOTO OF NEW MEXICO PLACE KICKER KATIE HNIDA ATTEMPTS EXTRA POINT.
University of New Mexico place kicker Katie Hnida (2) attempts an extra point against UCLA during the SEGA Sports Las Vegas Bowl at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, in this file image from December 25, 2002. Hnida became the first woman to play in a Division I-A football game when she made the extra point attempt. The kick was blocked by UCLA's Brandon Chillar (11). Hnida says in the upcoming edition of Sports Illustrated that she was raped by a teammate while at the University of Colorado in the summer of 2000.
