District Attorney Robert Morgenthau announces the indictment and arrest of 33 people and one financial investment firm at a press conference in New York on July 8. Those charged are said to have participated in a pattern of massive securities fraud which cheated thousands of investors out of almost $100 million. 17 of the individuals and the firm, A.S. Goldman, are charged with Enterprise Corruption under New York's Organized Crime Control Act.
