CUBAN DISSIDENT VLADIMIRO ROCA SIPS COFFEE AFTER HIS RELEASE FROM
PRISON.
Vladimiro Roca, one of Cuba's leading dissidents and son of one of
communist Cuba's founding fathers, sips coffee with his wife Magaly
after being released from prison on May 5, 2002, after serving all but
two months of a five-year sentence for inciting sedition. Roca's
freedom had to be approved by Cuban President Fidel Castro, local
analysts said, in an apparent gesture to former U.S. President Jimmy
Carter, scheduled to visit the Communist-ruled island beginning next
Sunday. REUTERS/Rafael Perez
