-PHOTO TAKEN 19DEC04- A Cuban man carries a pigeon in a cage at a plaza in Havana, December 19, 2004. A big-time sport of Cuban men and boys is pigeon-catching, which consists in making a tame bird to coo loudly to attract the wild ones or to make it fly about in a circle. Generally the wild pigeon flies into a cage through a large opening and a well-trained pigeon, once the wild one enters the cage, flies to the top of the cage and hovers over the wild pigeon to keep it from escaping. Part of this sport is also trying to attract an already trained pigeon and make the original owner buy it back. PICTURE TAKEN DECEMBER 19.
