A big-time sport of Cuban men and boys is pigeon-catching, which consists in making a tame bird to coo loudly to attract the wild ones or to make it fly about in a circle. Generally the wild pigeon flies into a cage through a large opening and a well-trained pigeon, once the wild one enters the cage, flies to the top of the cage and hovers over the wild pigeon to keep it from escaping.
