Cuban shipwreck survivor Elian Gonzalez is carried by his cousin Marisleysis Gonzalez after arriving at the home of his Miami relatives March 24 following a day at school. U.S. officials turned up the heat on the relatives who are fighting to keep Elian in the United States by pressing the family lawyers for speedy legal appeals. The Justice Department warned the family they might take the boy if the family dragged their feet in resolving the case.
