Pen-and-ink drawings by Pablo Picasso hang in Villa Paula in Miami
Pen-and-ink drawings by Pablo Picasso (L) hang in Villa Paula in Miami, Florida August 14, 2015. The neo-classical house with high ceilings was built in 1926 by Cuba and served as the consulate until the late 1930s when a change of government shuttered the diplomatic mission. The US and Cuba restored diplomatic relations after 54 years in July but so far there is no word if Cuba will reopen a consulate in Miami. The house is currently undergone a $300,000 restoration to preserve its original Cuban furnishings, including hand-painted tiles and cedar door and window frames imported from the Caribbean island.
