A large alligator sits in the sun with the space shuttle Discovery (L) shown on launch pad 39A after high winds forced a scrub of the 100th shuttle flight for the third time at the Kennedy Space Center October 9, 2000. Mission managers now hope to launch on October 10. Discovery, with a crew of seven astronauts, is expected to carry two components to the International Space Station on an 11-day mission.
