Pakistan wildlife staff prepare to bury dead Indus dolphins near Sukkur, 480 km (300 miles) from Karachi December 31, 2004. Dry weather and lack of water in rivers is causing a reduction in numbers of such endangered species.The Indus dolphin is functionally blind and it is estimated that there are between 950 to 1000 Indus dolphins remaining in Pakistan.The species is listed as 'Endangered' by the World Conservation Union (IUCN).
