Jakarta, Indonesia - Republic of
INDONESIAN KIDS AT DEBT RALLY IN JAKARTA.
Indonesian children carry placards saying "reject Paris club" during a
protest in front of the presidential palace in Jakarta on April 11, 2002.
Thursday's rally was part of a campaign by Indonesian NGOs to end the
country's dependency to foreign debt. Indonesia expects to get a $5.5
billion debt rescheduling from the Paris club in a deal that would be vital
to help cut its 2002 budget deficit to 2.5 percent of GDP from 3.7 percent
targetted last year. REUTERS/Beawiharta
