Employees of Thailand's Revenue Department in Bangkok throw sacks of
shop and restaurant receipts into a bin for a weekly lottery draw with
a prize money of Thai baht ($7000). The receipts are used instead of
tickets to create public pressure, making it riskier for the shop
owners to evade taxes. The government, which has problems collecting
taxes from the public, has increased the profile of the Revenue
Department in hopes of collecting taxes from thousands of small
family-owned businesses all over the country. Picture taken July 4,
