EGYPTIAN ANTIQUITIES EXPERT INSPECTS RECENTLY DISCOVERED 3,500-YEAR-OLD
PYRAMIDION.
An Egyptian antiquities expert inspects June 6, 2002, a small
3,500-year-old pyramidion belonging to Thenar, a scribe of the temple
of memphis, recently discovered. Egyptian archaeologists recently
discovered seven tombs near the 4,800-year-old step pyramid of Sakkara,
belonging to high officials and priests dating from the same dynasty. A
pyramidion is technically the tip of a large pyramid, but some scale
models have been found in temples. REUTERS/Aladin Abdel Naby
