The ancient refectory table used by monks is seen at the St.Anthony's Monastery in Egypt
The ancient stone refectory table used by monks is seen at the St. Anthony's Monastery, the world's oldest monastery in Egypt's Red Sea coast 155 km (100 miles) south west of the capital Cairo October 27, 2005. The building that served as the living quarters for monks, dates from between the fourth and fifth centuries and helps shed light on the early days of monastic life. It is from this monastery, monasticism spread everywhere in Egypt and the whole world. REUTERS/Antony Njuguna
