Egyptian Kamal Ahmed Mahran, an antiquities guardian, stands at the
feet of two colossal statues of the pharaoh king Ramses II at the
3200-year-old Abu Simblel temple in the upper reaches of the nile
January 13, 2002. The temple, once rescued from flood waters by massive
international effort, has been renovated and reopened for the public.
