Spanish priest Antonio Rodriguez sits during a court hearing in San Salvador September 4, 2014. Rodriguez, known for supporting a fragile gang truce and accused of smuggling banned items into jails, influence-peddling and associating with illegal groups, was sentenced on Thursday to two years in prison but will serve his sentence out of jail, prosecutors said. Rodriguez, a member of the Passionist Congregation, was arrested in late July for introducing cellphones to a couple of prisons in complicity with the leader of a gang that had ordered killings.
