WILLIAM DALEY SEEN ON MONITOR AT BUSH AUSTIN HEADQUARTERS.
Democratic presidential candidate and Vice President Al Gore's campaign chairman William Daley tells Gore supporters and the media in Nashville, as seen in this photo on a large monitor screen in Austin, Texasearly November 8, 2000, that the Gore campaign would not concede the election to Republican George W. Bush because the election was "simply too close to call." Daley said that there was a margin of 1,200 votes in Florida, and with more than 5,000 votes left to count, a recount would be necessary in Florida.
