THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF THE RULING VMRO PARTY BORIS TRAJKOVSKI VOTES.
Boris Trajkovski, the presidential candidate of the ruling VMRO-DPMNE centre-right Macedonian party, accompanied by his son, casts a ballot paper for the presidential elections at a polling place in Skopje, November 14. Macedonia votes on Sunday to elect a new president to succeed veteran Kiro Gligorov who had led the tiny Balkan republic to independence in 1991. Some 1.6 milion voters are to choose between Tito Petkovski of the opposition Social Democratic Alliance of ex-communists and Boris Trajkovski of the VMRO party, the main force in the fragile ruling centre-right coalition.
