Benny the elephant, an Indian elephant belonging to the Hermanos Vazquez circus reaches out to the camera lens with his trunk as he rests in his pen in a Mexico City park, February 1, 2001. Benny has gained fame as the largest illegal alien ever after his owners paid a smuggler to bring him accross the border from the U.S. at Matamoros after loosing patience with the delays in the bureaucracy to import him legally. The circus now fears that Benny will be confiscated and they will loose their star attraction to a zoo.
