Cuban women prepare for storage a piece of furniture from the house of late American author Ernest Hemingway on the outskirts of Havana. Cuban women prepare for storage in a container a piece of furniture from the house of late American author Ernest Hemingway on the outskirts of Havana, as restoration works on the house have begun, June 9, 2005. The house "Finca Vigia" where Hemingway lived and wrote for 22 years was left to the Cuban state after Hemingway's death in 1961 and is now a museum. The private American group The National Trust has put the house on its list of "America's Most Endangered Historic Places", but the Cuban government rejected the designation, sensitive to incursions on its sovereignty by its ideological enemy of four decades.
