STREET NAMED AFTER JOEY RAMONE IN NEW YORK CITY.
A fan holds a large look-a-like head of Joey Ramone while hundreds of
people gathered at the corner of Second Street and the Bowery in New
York City, November 30, 2003 as the street was officially named "Joey
Ramone Place." Ramone's corner is on the north side of the block that
houses CBGB, the legendary club where the Ramones helped usher in punk
rock in the United States. Ramone died from cancer in April 2001.
