Firefighters and 4th Infantry Division soldiers work side-by-side in
the Payette National Forest in Idaho, to build "direct fire line" to
control the northeast corner of the wild fire August 12, 2000. In less
than two weeks, the 4th Infantry Division soldiers have mastered the
skills of firefighting, and firefighters here say that the soldiers are
already just as qualified as the professional firefighters.
