Khalifa breaks a branch to cooks at "The New Jungle" camp in Calais
Khalifa, from Sudan breaks a branch to cooks at "The New Jungle" camp in Calais, France, August 9, 2015. Khalifa, 25, has spent four months in "The New Jungle" and says that his dream is to travel and live in the U.S. He is the "hairdresser and cook" in his group. Khalifa is from Darfour and spent two and a half years in Libya before travelling to Italy on a rubber dinghy. For most of the 3,000 inhabitants of the "Jungle", a shanty town on the sand dunes of France's north coast, the climax of each day is the nightly bid to sneak into the undersea tunnel they hope will lead to new life in Britain.
