Edward Fagan, a New York-based attorney gestures as he presents a letter of Germany's Commerzbank which takes on a Jewish owned bank in Lodz, Poland in September 1939 during a news conference in Berlin August 23. Fagan is one of a number of private U.S. attorneys who are suing German banks and industrial companies on behalf of people who were forced to work as slave laborers by Nazis and other Holocaust victims, including those whose assets - from art works to homes to businesses - were looted. The next round of negotiations on a fund to be created by German companies to compensate slave workers and other victims of the holocaust is scheduled on August 24 in Bonn.
