A flock of flamingoes arrives at the mudflats along the Bombay coast, on the eve of the new year, December 31, 2003. The Bombay Natural History Society, the largest non-government organisation in the Indian sub-continent engaged in nature conservation research, reports that nearly 6000 of the pink migratory birds which breed in the western Indian region of Gujarat, have made it an annual event since 1994 to arrive in India's financial capital to feast on sea food in the protected mudflats.
