Ford Motor Company introduced its Smart Safe Research Vehicle, a test vehicle for evaluation of technologies like the moveable buttons show here, during its 2004 product introduction in Dearborn, Michigan, June 13, 2003. The buttons, currently plunger buttons that are moveable, can be placed in any receptacle in the vehicle, allowing the driver to customize the location of the buttons with the Telematics System.
