Leder who was 17 when he started his career in Algrange, retired in 1983 as a train driver at the mine at the age of 47 and still lives in Algrange in the house where he was born in 1936. Niessen who was 16 when he started his career at the mine in Algrange, retired in 1984 as a geometrician at the age of 53.
