A French soldier patrols near the Eiffel Tower and coloured souvenir shirts as a huge security network has been set up to protect the World Cup soccer tournament that kicks off in less than two weeks, May 28. Some 1,000 soldiers are detailed to the Paris metro, the capital's train stations and monuments like the Eiffel Tower.
