Farmers carrying scarecrows take part in a demonstration to protest over the European Common Agricultural Policy November 19. Several thousand farmers covered the Invalides lawns in scarcrows and banners to appeal to European Commission President Jacques Santer to reform the policy. The sign reads" Santer is burying us" and "Santer is selling out Europe to the Americans".
