DEMONSTRATION AGAINST PROPOSED CHANGES IN RETIREMENT RIGHTS IN PARIS.
A demonstrator wears a pig mask as he beats a snare drum with a leek during a protest march against proposed changes to French retirement rights in Paris, January 25, 2001. The nationwide demonstrations are against recent efforts by the French employers organisation (MEDEF) to reform the pension system and retirment age which would oblige many of the private sector's 15 million employees to continue working into their 60s to collect a full pension.
