Soldier crosses empty bridge over river Rhine following evacuation in Koblenz
A German army Bundeswehr soldier crosses the empty bridge over the river Rhine that has been closed due to a World War II bomb that was found in the river of the western German city of Koblenz December 4, 2011. Some 45,000 people, nearly half of the city's population within a two kilometre radius of the bomb site were evacuated on Sunday so the 1.8 ton bomb that was dropped by the Royal Air Force (RAF) could be defused. It is the biggest bomb-related evacuation in Germany's post-war history. The bomb was found after water levels fell significantly in Europe's largest waterway due to a prolonged dry period.
