Members of an all female Bavarian Alphorn band prepare their instruments for a concert near Muensing
Members of the 'Werdenfelser Alphornblaeserinnen' an all female Bavarian Alphorn band, prepare their instruments for a concert near Muensing at the lake Starnberg November 30, 2012. Despite being a male dominated tradition, the 'Werdenfelser Alphornblaeserinnen' (Werdenfelser female alphorn blowers) tour the surrounding southern Bavarian towns playing this Alpine traditional instrument. Some five to 20 members from diverse backgrounds such as bankers, students to professional musicians make up the band which was founded by Elisabeth Heilmann-Reimche (pictured C) who also gives alphorn classes.
