An unidentified prostester throws leaflets after the election of Gregor
Gysi of the reform communist Party of the Democratic Socialism (PDS) to
protest against the role of the party to build up the Berlin wall in
1961, during the parliamentary session of the regional parliament in
Berlin January 17, 2002. Gysi, a 54 year old lawyer from the PDS whose
predecessor ruled East Germany for four decades with an iron fist, was
