HEINSBERG, Germany
Stildorf first time FDP candidate in constituency of Heinsberg for Geman general election
Linus Stieldorf, a member of Germany's Free Democratic party (FDP) in Heinsberg and candidate for the upcoming general election, in the garden of the house of his parents in Selfkant-Schalbruch near Heinsberg and the German-Dutch border August 9, 2013. The 18-year old said his chances to win the mandate for parliament were "zero" because Germany's most western election district of Heinsberg near Aachen has been won by a CDU candidate since 1949. Still, he is keen on running for a seat, because "I want to make politics simple and understandable like Abraham Lincoln," he said in a Reuters interview. Stildorf is annoyed with "the arrogance of politicians, especially towards the young generation line mine. The disenchantment of politics worries me a lot and I want to change this," he said. German Chancellor and Christian Democratic Union (CDU) leader Angela Merkel is seeking a third term in a parliamentary election on September 22, 2013. Picture taken August 9.
