FRENCH AND GERMAN ANTI-NUCLEAR DEMONSTRATORS LIE ON A RAILWAY TRACK
French and German anti-nuclear demonstrators lie chained to a railway
track that should be used by a train transporting nuclear waste from
Germany August 1, 2001 in Hoenheim near Strasbourg. The biggest
shipment of nuclear waste in Germany's history with a total of 12
containers with spent fuel rods from five German nuclear power plants
crossed the French German border today leading to the La Hague
reprocessing plant in France and Sellafield in Great Britain.
