Claudia Dandl who lives in the house where Pope Benedict was born is selling-up after hordes of tourists peering through her windows and ringing her doorbell have made her life unbearable. Since Joseph Ratzinger, who was born in the house in 1927, became Pope in April, Dandl has had to disconnect the bell and keep the curtains drawn to try and shield her privacy from prying pilgrims.
