The volunteer patient Theda Funk displays transparent dental braces,
that promise to eliminate the embarrassment many felt with bulkier
previous models, in the Charite hospital in Berlin August 22, 2001. The
transparent braces were developed in the United States and became
available for the first time in Germany on Wednesday.
