GERMANY. 
Sand sculptures representing the Sphinx and the pyramids from Giza and
the ancient light tower in Alexandria are illuminated on the beach of
the Baltic sea coastal village of Travemuende near Luebeck July 10,
2003, during the opening ceremony of Germany's second sand-sculpture
festival. About seventy sculptors shaped the 'Seven wonders of the
world - world of wonders', using some eight million kilograms of
special sand. The festival runs from July 11 until September 7, 2003.
