A WOMAN BRAVES THE SNOWSTORM IN CENTRAL ATHENS.
A woman braves a snowstorm as she visits the monument of the Unknown
Soldier outside the Greek Parliament in Athens' Constitution (Syntagma)
square January 6, 2002 while the pigeons of the square take shelter in
the carved statue of the Unknown soldier. Parts of southern and central
Greece remained in the grip of a freak winter snow storm on Sunday
which blocked roads, disrupted flights and left hundreds of thousands
of people house bound. Greek Premier Costas Simitis told reporters that
it was the worst weather in 40 years and recommended citizens take care
and limit their travel. REUTERS/Yannis Behrakis REUTERS
