French Minister of Foreign Affairs Hubert Vedrine listens to a question
during a press conference in Rome, July 18, 2001, while in Rome for a
meeting of G8 nations Foreign ministers. Foreign ministers for the
Group of Eight (G8) nations gathered for a two days of discussion to
prepare for the summit of G8 leaders in Genoa starting on July 20.
Vedrine said G8 ministers had agreed that time was slipping away for
peace in the Middle East.
