DIRECTOR GENERAL OF WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION POSES WITH MEENAKSHI DUTTA IN NEW DELHI.
Gro Harlem Brundtland (R), director-general of the World Health Organisation (WHO) poses with Meenakshi Dutta, a student disabled by polio, in New Delhi on January 6. Brundtland is in India to launch the "final push" of WHO's polio eradication drive. WHO says India, which had about 70 percent of the world's 5,000 reported polio cases in 1999, holds the key to the success of a drive to rid the world of the crippling virus.
