A doctor at the University of Connecticut Health Center holds the
smallpox vaccine used to inoculate volunteer health care workers
January 24, 2003 in Farmington, Connecticut. The doctors vaccinated
today in Connecticut are the first volunteer participants in the U.S.
Government's national plan to vaccinate up to 500,000 health care
workers and emergency workers against the dangers of a smallpox
