A small boy watches the flag-raising cermony on China's National Day October 1. This is the first time that Hong Kong, a former British colony of 156 years, officially celebrated the communist Chinese holiday. The solemn two-minute ceremony was attended by China-anointed leader Tung Chee-hwa, top government officials, politicians and legislators as well as top Chinese officials stationed in Hong Kong.
