A woman covers her ear as an Iberia employee blows a whistle during an Iberia strike in Madrid
A woman covers her ear as an Iberia employee blows a whistle during an Iberia strike, the fourth day of the second of three five-day stoppages planned for February and March, in Madrid March 7, 2013. Management at airline Iberia met union leaders on Thursday to discuss a mediator's proposal for less harsh job and salary cuts at the Spanish flag carrier, although a deal to end strike action still seemed far off. Iberia pilots, air stewards and ground staff have been out since March 4 in the second of three five-day strikes in February and March, protesting at plans to lay off 3,807 workers and cut salaries by 20 percent in what the airline calls "a fight for survival". The sign reads, "Iberia for sale. And if we let them, they will also sell your mother!". REUTERS/Susana Vera (SPAIN - Tags: TRANSPORT POLITICS BUSINESS CIVIL UNREST EMPLOYMENT)
