People walk past a closed shop during an indefinite strike called by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (Gorkha People's Liberation Front), at Kurseong town, about 32 km (20 miles) south of the northeastern hill resort of Darjeeling June 17, 2008. Protesters shut down the famous Darjeeling hills on Tuesday, threatening its tea and tourism industries, as the Gorkha community pressed its demand for autonomy with an indefinite strike.
