A COLLAPSED ELECTRIC TOWER IN KASHMIR.
A Kashmiri boy walks near a collapsed electric tower at Kuthipora, 15 Kms (9 miles) west of Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir January 17. According to police and electrical officials some electric towers have been destroyed by separatist militants, resulting in the complete breakdown of power supply in the troubled Kashmir valley since the 14th of this month. Residents at this strife-torn valley where temperatures fall bellow freezing point, will remain without electricity for the next fortnight, officials said.
