A Hindu monk rides a cycle on a beach at Sagar island, 150 km (95 miles) south of Calcutta, on January 13, 2005. Some 200,000 Hindu monks and pilgrims are travelling to Sagar island for the festival of Makar Sankranti where they will immerse themselves into the confluence of the Ganges river and the Bay of Bengal.
