TWO INDIAN PROSTITUTES PREPARE TO RELEASE PIGEONS IN CALCUTTA.
Two Indian prostitutes prepare to release pigeons to mark the start of a convention of sex workers in the eastern Indian city of Calcutta on March 3, 2001. A three-day carnival to lend dignity to prostitution began in Calcutta on Saturday, with 5,000 prostitutes gathering in the city's largest football stadium to declare that they would henceforth celebrate March 3 as the International Day for Sex Workers Rights.
