The chief minister of India's tribal state of Nagaland, S.C. Jamir, who recently survived the fourth attempt on his life, gestures during an interview in the northeastern Indian town of Chumkedima February 11. Nagaland has been torn by insurgency for half a century, but since August 1997 the insurgents have agreed to a cease fire with security forces. Jamir says the insurgents have violated the ceasefire agreement, when they ambushed him two months ago. The insurgents deny their involvement in the ambush.
