EIGHT-YEAR-OLD PERFORMS ON TRAIN IN BOMBAY.
Eight-year-old street artist Pappu performs for passengers in a
passenger train in Bombay January 9, 2002. Earning around 100 rupees
(around $2 ) a day, children perform on the trains to supplement the
income of their parents instead of going to school. Though the Indian
government has prohibited child labour, there are still between 75 to
90 million working children in the country, according to UNICEF.
