RAILWAY CRANE LIFTS TRAIN LOCOMOTIVE AT GAISAL.
A crane lifts the enigine of one the trains which collided on Monday at Gaisal, some 80 kms south of the eastern Indian town of Siliguri, August 4. The death toll from the tragic rail collision in eastern India neared 300 on Wednesday as the search through tangled wreckage went into its third day. As the last decomposing bodies were cut away from the jumble of engines and carriages in a remote corner of West Bengal state, attention switched to who or what was responsible for the country's most serious rail accident since 1995.
